{Nashville,TN} Christian Country and Southern Gospel duet, Wendy Word + forgiven has a heart for ministry, that doesn’t only involve their award-winning music. The duet, consisting of Wendy and her husband Tony, felt the urgency this month to sponsor a mission to the devastation in Haiti. The orphaned children were a great concern for the Word’s, and after prayer and direction, the mission was accomplished through their sponsorship. Wendy notes, “I hope that the prayers for these children will continue. One of the children was badly abused; his name is Junior. His mother beat him with the handle of a knife in the back of his head so badly that his skull is deformed.We hope and pray that these children are not forgotten and that missions of this type will help many more of the tens of thousands of children suffering there. The natural disaster in Haiti could not be helped but the added calamity of child abuse can be with missions of this type.”
