NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Southern Gospel favorites The Freemans were recently greeted with news that they have been nominated for three SGM FanFair Awards. The SGM FanFair Awards nominees were announced this week in a press release announcement.
The Freemans collectively received a nomination for Favorite Song of the Year (for their #1 hit “Three Rugged Crossesâ€). Meanwhile, group matriarch Chris Freeman landed two individual nominations – Favorite Alto and Naomi Sego Living Legend Award.

The nominees in the SGM FanFair Awards were chosen by the readers of Christian Voice Magazine and attendees of the SGM FanFair. The winners for the awards will be announced on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the 6th Annual SGM FanFair.

These nominations come on the heels of the group’s nominations in the upcoming 2010 SGN Music Awards. The group earned their third consecutive nomination for Country Song of the Year (also for “Three Rugged Crossesâ€) in addition to landing first time nominations in Special Event Project of the Year (for Christmas Memories), and Best Live Performer. Darrell Freeman also earned his third consecutive nomination for Producer of the Year (Artist).
The Freemans have been in the studio working on the follow-up to the award-winning Eyes On the Prize album. More information will be released on that at a later date.
