Bailey, Texas Music fans across the world have enjoyed the beautiful harmonies of The McNeills through their viral Youtube/Facebook video of “What A Friend We Have In Jesusâ€, which recently surpassed six million views. Sung in a silo on the family farm in Indiana, it’s a video you don’t want to miss! They have affectionately been dubbed The Silo Singers.
For those of you that haven’t been introduced to The McNeills, they are a family of 12, mom, dad and 10 children!   Michelle McNeill likes to say, “With all our children, we have two quartets waiting in the wings!”  Much of a McNeills concert features Michelle and her husband, Chris, along with their oldest daughter and son, Caylie and Landon. A concert also features their built in choir of backup singers (their other 8 children, fondly referred to as the cutest little backup singers in Texas!), participating in a variety of inspirational and entertaining ways.
The family plays a variety of instruments, and bluegrass gospel is always an exciting part of a concert, as is their beautiful a capella songs. A favorite in a McNeills concert is an original song, written by Caylie that delivers a powerful message, blessing those in attendance. Watch for “He’s Not Finished With Me Yet†on their next album!
The family group is currently in the midst of sharing in a series of special events throughout Tennessee and Arkansas. They recently concluded a week at the National Quartet Convention and are scheduled for a special performance at Dollywood on Monday, October 10th. They will also be ministering in several churches throughout Tennessee and Arkansas while on their fall tour. While at the National Quartet Convention, The McNeills recorded an episode of the nationally televised Harmony Road TV program, which will air in the upcoming season.
Gospel music fans and DJ’s enjoyed an acoustic jam session with the McNeills at the National Quartet Convention at the Harmony Road TV/Mercedes-Benz Itour Media Center. After their performance, they were joined by The Troy Burns Family and the Positive Cowboy, Jim Sheldon, on a rousing rendition of “I’ll Fly Away”.
