NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (November 18, 2013) –  While on tour through the State of Michigan, MARK209 was invited by the school administration to come speak at Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township for the students of the choir department, where they addressed classes throughout the day. They spoke with the students about experiences while touring on the road, radio & television appearances (singing and acting), the importance of practicing and vocal health, feeling a song and delivering it with emotion, and much more. They sang many songs off their new “On A Roll” CD including their current single, “It Takes Faith”, along with their just released Christmas single, “O Holy Night.”  This southern gospel quartet was the talk of the campus as students inundated Twitter, posting to fellow classmates about the group performing in the music room.Â
James Pecar, director of choirs – Chippewa Valley High School, says: “What a wonderful opportunity for students to be exposed to a new genre! It was amazing to see these young artist’s faces light up when the group sang their first chord!”Â
Jym Howe, MARK209 lead singer, says: “We really enjoyed getting to share our experiences with the students. It was a great opportunity to introduce these young people to our music . southern gospel. For most of them (possibly all of them), this was their first introduction to our genre. We were excited when several students came to us after class to talk about their desire to enter the music industry in one form or another.”Â
After each class, the group would spend time with the students to talk about the student’s personal goals, pose for photos, and sign autographs. Later that day, many posts were made on the quartet’s social pages about their visit to the high school from students and parents who commented on how much of an impact the group’s singing and advice had been.Â
It was just a month ago that MARK209 sang for the inmates at the James V. Alred Maximum Security Prison in Wichita Falls, TX.Â
