Columbus, MS – Dennis McKay of M.A.C. Records announced on the HLE Radio Morning Show with Hunter Logan that the music industry veteran, Chris Golden, will be partnering with M.A.C. Records as a Producer for select music tracks using some of the top studio musicians in Nashville.
“I met Chris about a year ago at an event. We had the chance to visit and talk shop. Over the past several months we have developed a genuine respect for each other and brotherhood. Chris is a great producer and his projects are top notch. He brings another level of expertise and an excitement to the M.A.C. Records team. We look forward to producing some great stuff†remarked Dennis McKay, Owner of M.A.C. Records.
Chris Golden is probably most widely known as a son of the legendary Oak Ridge Boys’ William Lee Golden, and as a long standing member of The Mighty Oaks band. However, Golden’s talents and expertise in the music business spans 30 plus years as an artist, entertainer, musician, vocalist, producer, and as a sideman for acts as various as The Flying Burrito Brothers and Restless Heart. In addition to touring and recording with the Oak Ridge Boys, Chris has produced a number of his own solo projects which showcase his talents. He has also produced projects for various clients such as Polygram, and EMI, as well as a box set for his father, William Lee, called ‘My Life’s Work’. Chris has had a number of releases in both the Country and Gospel markets, and he currently holds the #1 position in the Cashbox Christian Country Charts with ‘A Different Light’, which he produced. Recently, he was awarded the 2016 ‘Crossover Artist of The Year’ by Christian Voice magazine’s Gospel Music Fan Awards.
“I am proud to be carrying on ”My Father’s” business, and excited to be a part of the M.A.C. Records production team and I look forward to working with Dennis.  My main focus is to provide a personal touch to songwriters and artists to help them sound their best while maintaining their own personal style and delivering a finished piece of magic at an affordable price. There are many places you can go to record these days, but remember…it is not the place or studio you go that creates the magic, it is the people. In my mind there are no such thing as demos…only masters!†commented Chris Golden.
M.A.C. Records makes its home at Studio 115A (the McKay’s recording studio) in historic Columbus, Mississippi. M.A.C. Records was a record label owned by Dennis’ father, Robert McKay, back in the 60’s. The label laid dormant for about 50 years until Dennis and Leslie McKay revived it in 2011 to carry on the tradition of gospel music. The label consists of two divisions: Magnolia Records (Southern Gospel/Contemporary Christian) and Route 82 Records (Christian Country). Through the wonder of technology, Dennis and Chris will be able to share tracks and work together to produce music whether in Columbus, MS or Nashville, TN.
