Jeff also had the honor recently of being inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame for his years of traveling and playing with The Nelons.
Jeff was excited to say, “This family will never know the impact they’ve made in my life. Rex Nelon gave me a chance, and Kelly and Jason continue to do that. Todd Nelon allows me to come and share my music at his church. They are like my second family…I’ll be 56 in a couple of weeks and as I look back over my life, Gospel Music has pretty much been its focus. I’ve been blessed to see a lot of places and I’ve gotten to experience many things. Accolades and achievements that if I’m honest, made me feel good….at the time. There have also been times, that if I’m honest, I was too focused on Gospel Music . We all set goals because it feels good and motivates us when we reach them. With me, there were times that my goals became my identity. That happened because I spent more time with my goal than I did with my Heavenly Father.â€
Continuing Stice commented, “When I should have been the happiest guy in the world I was miserable and my life was falling apart . Why God never gave up on me is beyond my ability to reason or figure out. Sometimes I feel like we think we know what God thinks and how He should react to things. Have I got it all figured out? Hardly! I’m just trying to finish well. I do not take things for granted. And I know what Phillipians 3:13-14 means ( look it up! It’s inspiring!) THE GOSPEL MUSIC HALL OF FAME…..Thank you Nelons, Mom and Dad and my friends. I love you so much. All I can say is wow!â€
