This year, the Brumley’s celebrated an 80 year birthday ofthe most recorded song, “I’ll Fly Away.” Albert E. Brumley’s son,Bob, was inducted into the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame in 2011 and continuesto carry the torch for the family heritage. Bob’s daughter, Betsy, was namedChairman of the Board for the I’ll Fly Away Foundation. The Foundation’smission is to carry on the Brumley heritage by providing scholarships andlearning experiences for youth to pursue their dreams in Gospel Music. TheTuesday Night Showcase opens the Brumley Sing week and fans come from all overthe country each year to be a part of this special event that features popularSouthern Gospel artists.
