(Nashville, Tenn.) March 29, 2011 – Ernie Haase & Signature Sound made a very special stop to the Largo, FL kitchen of Casey’s Cookies, a non-profit company whose mission is to train and employ disabled adults to bake wonderful gourmet cookies, giving them a chance to have a fulfilled, meaningful life. EHSS made a stop at the kitchen prior to their March 20 concert in Largo, FL.
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound is the favorite group of the company’s namesake, Casey Torman. Her father, Barry Torman, says that “…all she ever talks about is Ernie and the guys. She tells everyone about the group and knows all the words to the songs. To have Ernie and the guys as guests in the kitchen meant the world to Casey. She still can’t stop talking about the day!”
“I met Casey about six years ago at a concert and just fell in with her and the Torman family” states Haase, “When she invited us to her kitchen, we were honored to come and spend the day with all the great folks at Casey’s Cookies! These cookies are great and what Barry and Lori Torman are doing for their daughter Casey, and other disabled adults like her, is changing their lives. They are giving these exceptional adults amazing opportunities to live a full life!
At the concert later that evening, Casey received a big surprise, Ernie called Casey up to sing “He Touched Me” with the group. This moment brought tears, applause and a standing ovation from the crowd at Indian Rocks Baptist Church.
