The name Kirk Talley has been synonymous with Southern Gospel Music for over 25 years. Kirk possesses a genuine love for Gospel music and strives to present the Gospel in a unique, yet professional manner. He says about his concerts: “I want the people to feel comfortable. I want them to feel like they are in my living room, just having a great time and lifting up praise to our Lord.â€
Cornerstone Fellowship Church, located just west of Coatesville is hosting a concert to benefit GLAD Family Lifestyle Personal Care (GLAD), a 501c3 non-profit, developed to meet a critical need in our community for independent living and support for people with disabilities. Our commitment and passion is to provide a wholesome family home-style living environment for adults with disabilities, attributable to mental and/or physical impairments. We will assist adults, who do not require nursing care but who do need supervision, with self-care activities and daily tasks.
At GLAD, our mission is to create a family cooperative environment that engages individuals in the living experience. Through shared responsibilities, expectations and positive reinforcement, individuals will increase their self-esteem, their independence and their self-sufficiency. Our objectives are:
- To provide a positive and supportive “family†environment that helps each individual to realize stability and maximize their independence
- To provide respite for families of individuals with disabilities
- To provide a transitional training service preparing individuals to live on their own
GLAD is in the process of raising funds to acquire a suitable home and obtaining licensing, additional and trained staff. To reach our goal, we intend to hold several fundraisers in the coming months. We expect to be in full operation by mid January 2012, in Chester County PA.On Friday October 7, 2011, 7pm-10pm the second annual Charity Fundraiser Concert will take place at Cornerstone Fellowship, 101 Kylies Road Coatesville, PA 19320. Â
