Full Life Trio will be going into it’s 22nd year of ministry this June. And for 19 of those years, we have traveled with a live band. Starting in May 2016, that’s all going to change. Debbie, Lea, and Becki will be starting a new season of ministry, without the band. Debbie will still be playing the keyboard at times, but for the most part, we’ll be using tracks in concert.
Why the change?Â
It all started over a year ago when bass player Ted Abel decided it was time to retire from traveling because he wanted to go fishing.. a LOT. Well, in January of 2016, he rejoined the group, but decided last week that he just doesn’t have the time or energy anymore.
With Ted leaving the band, it opened the door for our drummer Michael Sipes to make a hard decision. He too had been thinking about leaving due to both of his girls being involved in activities that he doesn’t want to miss out on. When JC Wiley, our guitar player, heard the news, he too made a heart-wrenching decision to call it quits.
JC said, “It’s so hard to give up or resign from something that God has anointed you to do. It’s been a blessing seeing people getting blessed. Had a wonderful time meeting everybody and serving God with everyone. With my health issues I need to step down.”
A word from group founder Debbie Davis: “When I started this ministry in 1994, we started out using tracks. In 1997, we formed the live band and have been traveling with a band ever since. It will definitely be a big change for us. Our band wasn’t there just to play music. They also ministered, testified, and spoke into people’s lives. If God laid it on their heart to say something in the middle of a concert, they had the freedom to do so. We are going to miss them and we know that many of our long-time fans will miss them, too!”
Please keep Ted, JC, & Michael in your prayers as they begin this new season in their lives, and for Debbie, Becki, & Lea as they continue the ministry that began back in the summer of 1994.
