Kinston, NC – Longtime Dixie Melody Boys’ manager and bass singer, Ed O’Neal has announced the addition of Matt Felts to the popular quartet. Felts fills the tenor position recently vacated by Jonathan Price.
Felts, a native of St Louis, was first introduced to Southern Gospel Music when he received a special Christmas gift, a Gaither Homecoming Video, featuring the legendary Cathedral Quartet. According to Felts, once he heard the smooth, rich quartet sounds, he was instantaneously hooked on the four-part harmony.
In recent years, Felts has enjoyed traveling with such noted groups as Skyline and The Monument Quartet, and was thrilled when the call came from O’Neal to join the talented North Carolina based quartet. “Ed O’Neal and The Dixie Melody Boys have been a household name for over six decades, and I am thrilled to be a part of their rich heritage,†Felts states.
O’Neal and fellow quartet members welcome Felts to The Dixie Melody Boys. “Matt is a top-notch singer, and we are excited to have him as a part of The Dixie Melody Boys,†O’Neal says.
Felts and his wife, Jennifer, make their home in Nashville, TN, with their daughter, Abigail.
Travels for The Dixie Melody Boys throughout the remainder of the year will take the group to South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina , where Dixie Melody Boys’ fans will have the opportunity to welcome Felts to the group.
