Dahlonega, Georgia On Saturday May 14th Karen Peck received the double honor of speaking at the Toccoa Falls College 2016 Commencement, in addition, Dr. Bob Myers awarded her an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Divinity.
Dr. Bob Myers stated, “It was my privilege to bestow the Honorary Doctor In Divinity Degree to Karen Peck Gooch for her lifetime Ministry of service to the Kingdom of God.â€
The Toccoa Falls College website stated, ” Karen Peck is the lead singer for the four time Grammy nominated Karen Peck and New River and is a three-time GMA Dove Award winner. She served two terms, 2010 and 2011, as the first woman president for the SGMA (Southern Gospel Music Association).
She has received many honors and accolades. In 2012, she landed a part in the movie, Joyful Noise, which also had her performing the song “Mighty High†on the film’s soundtrack. Karen has an acting role in the faith-based film Redeemed.
Karen Peck and New River was formed in 1991. They have had several number one hits such as ‘Four Days Late’, ‘Hold Me While I Cry’, ‘I Want To Thank You’, ‘On The Banks Of The Promised Land’, ‘Revival’, ‘Finish Well’, and ‘Pray Now’ just to name a few.
Karen is very honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Abraham Productions. She resides in Dahlonega, Ga. along with her husband, Rickey Gooch, and two children, Matthew and Kari.â€
