The Blackwood Quartet will also be at the December 31st concert. The Blackwood Quartet, led by Mark Blackwood, is one of gospel’s music’s most beloved quartets. The group has a long history in gospel music as Mark’s Grandfather and Uncles started the group back in 1934. Mark also works as a record producer where he has won two Grammy Awards for records he produced for the Blackwood Brothers. In recent years, the group has because popular with the Elvis community to the point that about half of their concerts are with Elvis Tribute Artists or associated with Elvis in some way. This came about because the relationship Mark’s father Cecil and cousin Ron had with Elvis. They group up in church with Elvis and remained friends with him after he became hugely famous.
