Melody in the Mountains is hosting a southern gospel benefit concert and talent search that will help raise funds for The Haley Neal Memorial Scholarship. Haley Neal was a high school senior who unexpectedly passed away on April 29, 2012. The family of Haley Neal have started a memorial scholarship in her name to honor her memory. This benefit concert and talent search will help a deserving college bound senior attend a college of their choice. Certain standards and guidelines have been set and must be met in order to receive the scholarship. The benefit concert will be held in Johnson City, Tn. and the location is TBA. The location will be posted on facebook and the website as soon as it is confirmed by all parties involved. Top choices as of right now is the VA Memorial Theater in Johnson City and a large Church located 5 minutes outside of Johnson City in Piney Flats, Tn. The concert will be held on April 6, 2013. The admission to the concert is free, but a love offering will be received for The Haley Neal Memorial Scholarship!
Melody in the Mountains was formed in 2012 by local groups to grow and reach out to the community to raise awareness and funds for The Haley Neal Memorial Scholarship. Greater Glory and His Mercies were two groups who participated in the first singing and are happy to continue to help and be a part of the annual benefit concert. Our hope is to continue to grow the benefit into big and great things!
